On November 30, Pilar Prados, CEO and co-founder of Bounsel, attended the ICAV(Bar Association of Valencia) to participate in the XXX Anniversary Congress in Memory of Professor Broseta.
The meeting, jointly organised by the Professor Manuel Broseta Foundation and the Manuel Broseta Pont Department of Commercial Law of the University of Valencia to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the professor’s death, was focused on the exchange of ideas, impressions and experiences about the digitisation from the world of law.
Business law in the digital revolution’, the name of the conference in which Bounsel’s CEO participated, featured six round tables. The conference provided interesting insights into digitalisation in areas such as company law, competition law, financial market law and the insurance sector.
Pilar Prados participated in the sixth round table, called ‘Legaltech: new frontiers in the practice of law’ and moderated by Lucía Carrau, founder of Innova.Legal. Her presentation was mainly based on her experience of working as a lawyer in Brazil, where she realised that the way of working was not productive.
However, the CEO said she knows that lawyers are not going to change the way they work and, for that reason, Bounsel adapts to them. In this sense, they created Bounsel Flow, a solution that aims to increase the productivity of lawyers by creating conversational forms that make the process much more human.
In order to allow attendees to try out the tool, a QR was projected, which allowed them to test the effectiveness of Bounsel Flow and, in addition, to obtain a certificate of attendance at the congress.
Pilar Prados shared this session with other prominent personalities from the legaltech world, such as Rafael Marimón Durá (director of the UV LegalTech Lab at the University of Valencia), Ana Vives (content director at Tirant lo Blanch publishing house) and Ignacio Varona (lawyer and partner at Varona Legal & Numbers).
All three underlined the importance of the digitalisation that is taking place in the legal world and, furthermore, pointed out that this is bringing about a new legal profession. “It is essential to bring technologists and lawyers together, and Bounsel is a clear example of this,” added Rafael Marimón.
They also referred to Artificial Intelligence as another way to make routine tasks easier for lawyers. This, according to Ignacio Varona, is becoming increasingly important, bringing new professionals to the forefront: data analysts.
It was certainly a very enriching event from which we were able to exchange very interesting ideas.
